Located in Puyu Village, Banbar County, Qamdo, Xizang, the “three-colored lakes” consist of the “black lake”, the “white lake”, and the “yellow lake”. These naturally formed water bodies, set in a roughly triangle‑shaped arrangement, cover approximately a total area of 150,000 m², with elevations starting at around 4,100 m above sea level.

On August 1, 2024, the World Record Certification Agency (WRCA) officially recognized this landscape as the “Highest Altitude Natural Tricolor Lakes ”. This extraordinary natural formation, characterized by its vibrant colors under sunlight, clear alpine waters, glaciers, and seasonal flora, has become a major highlight of ecological tourism. It reinforces Banbar County’s sustainable development strategy.
