This was once a millennial-old trade path where people herded sheep laden with salt for commerce. Today, it is a modernized trade channel between China and South Asia, linking Pokhara, an important city in Nepal.
Though transformed, it still serves as a hub for sheep trading. Recently, at Lektse Port in Zhongba County, Xigaze City within the Xizang Autonomous Region, immigration management officers took the role of shepherds to ensure the smooth clearance of sheep through customs.
