Nagqu, Xizang: A Snow Leopard Rescued and Returns to Nature

Recently, the Qusa Management and Protection Station of the Natural Resources in Tsonyi County, Nagqu, Xizang, received an urgent assistance request from a local herdsman. The herdsman reported that his sheepfold had been attacked by a snow leopard, resulting in the death of 15 lambs. In response to this situation, the station acted swiftly. They promptly arrived at the site equipped with professional tools and discovered that the snow leopard was trapped in a nearby valley.

To safeguard the safety of lives and property of residents while also considering wildlife protection, the station developed an emergency response plan. Following two days of meticulous operations, the snow leopard was successfully and safely relocated to the Changtang National Nature Reserve, situated over 600 kilometers away, where it was released back into its natural habitat.
