The High-level Tibetan Buddhism College of China organized a series of activities to Celebrate the Tibetan New Year. These included the creation of “Gutu” and chemar boxes, a basketball game, and a collective celebration of the Tibetan New Year.
“Gutu” is a kind of doughball soup that holds significant importance as a traditional dish for the Tibetan New Year’s Eve dinner.
According to customary practices, students prepare these dough balls by wrapping items such as wool, chili, charcoal, salt, stones, and other ingredients within them. If you eat a dough ball with wool, it stands for a gentle personality. Conversely, if you eat a dough ball with chili, it signifies an inclination toward making sarcastic remarks.
