Panchen Lama: policy on freedom of religious belief has been fully implemented since democratic reform in Tibet

The Panchen Erdeni Choskyi Gyalpo said recently that in the 60 years since democratic reform in Tibet, the Central Government has safeguarded the normal order of Tibetan Buddhism in accordance with the law. And Tibet has fully implemented the Party's fundamental principle on religious affairs. As a result, policy on freedom of religious belief has been fully implemented in the region.

"Over the past 60 years, different religions, different religious sects, and people believing in religion or not have lived together in harmony. Tibetan people's right to freedom of religious belief has been guaranteed in accordance with the law, religious activities have been carried out in an orderly manner, and Tibetan people's religious lives have been effectively satisfied. Tibetan Buddhism is growing healthily and orderly adhering to the principle of developing in the Chinese context," the Panchen Lama said steadily and firmly.

The Panchen Lama conducts a number of Buddhist activities and social research in Tibet every year, and he has personal experience in the implementation of religious freedom in Tibet. He said that now, representatives of the vast religious communities and monastery monks and nuns in Tibet are closely united under the banner of patriotism and love of religion. They adhere to religious rules and disciplines and devote themselves wholeheartedly to learning, thinking, practicing, and consciously safeguarding the unification of the motherland, ethnic unity, and social stability, striving to benefit religious followers and the society.

He hopes that by strengthening literary and artistic creation, especially by creating works themed on personnel who has made contributions to safeguarding ethnic unity and unification of the motherland to focus on reflecting Tibetan people's wishes to suppress evil and promote good, pursue justice, and desire peace, Tibetan culture will bloom more brilliantly in the garden of the motherland's art and literature, and will further contribute wisdom and strength to the harmony of the great family of the Chinese nation, the realizing of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
