"Tropical rainforests" present in Tibet 40 mln years ago: expert

Amber fossils found by an international team consisted of scientists from China, Britain and India indicate that there was a large area of rainforest present in the central part of Tibet, according to news from the Nanjing Geology and Palaeobiology Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on Oct 17, 2018.

The finding has provided critical evidence for understanding the ancient environment of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. And the latest research results have been published online in the palaeobiology journal Palaeoworld.
