The 23-year-old Lhakpa Dondrup was one of the earliest three young people to go to university outside Daman Village, Gyirong Township, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
After he finished his courses in the teacher-training school, he came back to his hometown and became the only teacher in his hometown to work in a nearby preschool where all kids in the surrounding three villages including the Daman Village attended.
It is learned that Daman Village carries out free education the same as other areas in Tibet Autonomous Region. By the end of 2018, the enrollment rate of school-age children reached 100 percent in the village.
