China spends 700 mln yuan repairing Tibetan monasteries

The Chinese central government has earmarked more than 700 million yuan (about 102 million U.S. dollars) for the repair project of Tibetan monasteries since the 1980s.

Qamba Buddha recolored in Drepung Monastery

Qamba Buddha with 500 years history in Drepung Monastery, one of the three biggest monasteries in Lhasa had been recolored with golden powder on March 14th.
