A tourist is enjoying Thangka paintings in the Barkor Street of Lhasa.

With more than one-thousand-year history, Thangka painting is one of the most famous craftworks in Tibet, attracting loves from home and abroad. Thangka is a religionary scroll painting framed in cloth or silk with various religious functions. It has been widely popularized since ancient time, especially after the democratic reform, painting of Thangka has met an unparalleled development with more people engaging in. Nowadays, it is not only a religionary painting as before, but becomes a hot artistic collection, souvenir and craftwork.
