Circular road
Barkor in the Tibetan language means a circular route. So Barkor Street, as indicated by its name, is a circular road. Buddhist devotees also call it Bodhi Road. The flagstone-paved street is about one kilometer long, and is flanked by neatly arranged houses in typical Tibetan architectural style.
