Wang Yang makes inspection in Tibet
Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the national committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), recently made an inspection in Tibet.
The top political advisor stressed that based on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China should conscientiously implement the Party’s strategy of governing Tibet and the Tibet work principle, focusing on upholding national unity and strengthening ethnic unity, firmly grasping on improving people’s livelihoods through promoting targeted poverty alleviation, innovating monastery management, struggling against separatism and striving to achieve prosperity, development, and long-term stability in Tibet.

From August 24 to 26, Wang Yang visited Chamdo and Lhasa, gaining a deeper understanding into Tibet’s economic and social development, poverty alleviation, and monastery management in resettlement villages, grassland nomadic areas, industrial parks, and religious places. He fully affirmed what Tibet has achieved since the 18th National Congress of the Party. Wang Yang stressed that winning the fight against poverty in Tibet is significant to the well-being of all ethnic groups and for consolidating national unity. China must persist in putting the quality of poverty alleviation above all else, reasonably determine a timeline for alleviating poverty.
Wang Yang emphasized that religious communities must bravely fight against forces that would seek to separate the country. It is necessary to strengthen the training of monastery personnel, improve teaching styles and internal management, abide by religious rules and regulations, enhance religious practices, maintain the good image of Buddhism, and promote the healthy development of Tibetan Buddhism.
During his time in Tibet, Wang Yang specially visited Pabala Gele Namgye and other leading cadres and veteran comrades of Tibet.
