"After moving into the new house, I planted a few pots of green plants on the balcony, adding a little 'little luck' to life." Nyima's family lives in Dekyi Comfortable Housing Garden, Jiarong Community, Chengguan District, Lhasa City, Tibet Autonomous Region. This is the resettlement community of a shantytown renovation project in Jiarong community.

“In the past, whenever rainy season, the old house with civil structure often leaked, and the roads around the house were always muddy and difficult to move.” Nyima recalled the scene of the family taking basins to collect rainwater after the leaking rain in the old house.

In June 2018, the well-off housing project in Jiarong shanty town was officially launched. More than two years later, a modern beautiful and livable urban community with complete supporting facilities appeared in Jiarong community. Nyima was allocated 3 suites (one with 163 square meters and two with 68 square meters) and a store along the street in Jiarong community.

In March 2021, Nyima's family moved into a 163-square-meter building and rented out the other two houses and shops to others, earning more than 10,000 yuan (1,569 US dollars) in monthly rental income.

"Living here, sitting on the balcony watering flowers, basking in the sun, and drinking tea in the afternoon or on weekends is a pleasure." Nyima said.
