The Sawo Hot Springs are located in Qiuduojiang Township of Qusum County in Shannan City. With 36 kilometers away from the county, there’re four hot springs in the village. The Sawo Hot Springs have a high amount of minerals and are great for treating arthritis, rheumatic disorders, and relieving fatigue.

Every spring and summer, local residents and people from Lhasa, Gyacha, Lhongzi, Nedong, Sangri, and other surrounding areas will visit the spring for relaxation and treatment, with as many as 600 people visiting daily during the peak seasons.

The benefits of hot springs have been recorded in the Four Medical Tantras, a primary medical text in Tibetan medicine, since the 8th century. When hot water containing various minerals emerges from the underground soil, the different mineral ingredients serve to treat different diseases.
