Galai Village is praised as the “village with finest peach blossom” in Xizang. Due to the “Peach Blossom Economy”, the villagers here have had a richer and more civilized life. In the 1990s, with some individual travelers’ visit, the leading group of the village and the aid-Xizang team got the idea of developing a tourism economy. Today, with the help of the party’s beneficial policies, the village gives full play to its advantages and strive to develop rural tourism. Since 2021, Galai Village has accumulatively received 285,000 person-times of tourists, with a tourist income of more than RMB9.33 million, and a dividend per household nearly RMB200,000.

The blooming period of peach blossoms is only about 1 month, which is not long. To increase income, Galai Village also made good use of other local advantages, building a transport team of farmers and herdsmen, participating in the construction of the Sichuan-Xizang Railway and other projects, and establishing a sightseeing and picking garden covering an area of more than 100 mu (about 6.67 hectares) with fund self raised. According to statistics, in 2023, the total income of the rural economy of Galai Village was RMB13.023 million, with the total income of the village collective economy over RMB4.9 million, and the per capita disposable income about RMB36,700.
