In recent years, Medog County, Nyingchi City, Tibet Autonomous Region has vigorously developed its tea industry, and it has gradually become an important local economic pillar industry. The spring tea picking season of 2021 has come to an end.

Medog County is located in the southeastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region, which belongs to subtropical, humid climate zone on the eastern side of the Himalayas. All four seasons are like spring: the annual temperature difference is small, rainfall is abundant, and the soil pH is suitable for growing tea. All of these provide natural and good conditions for growing tea.

During the busy spring tea picking season, tea farmers dress in traditional ethnic costumes and shuttle through the tea garden. They skillfully pick fresh spring tea leaves and put them in a bamboo basket at their waist.

It is understood that Medog County currently has 90 tea gardens with an area of 3,345.37 acres. Since the first batch of tea leaves were picked in 2015, they have picked a total of 625,700 catties (312,850 kg) of tea leaves, and accumulated income has increased by18.4266 million yuan (2.8451 million US dollars).
