Since 2016, Nacghu has lifted 137,033 impoverished people, nearly 25% of the city’s total population, out of poverty. Ngachu, with an average elevation of over 4,500 meters, is a major battleground in Tibet. Its harsh physical environment makes poverty alleviation extremely difficult. Through developing local industries, establishing specialized farmers and herdsmen cooperatives, and upgrading infrastructures such as rural power grids and drinking water projects, local residents are now leading a better life.
