On July 12, a Tibetan nomadic tents culture and art exhibition opened in Hangzhou, capital city of east China’s Zhejiang Province.

The art exhibition is themed on the Changthang grassland nomadic culture in the northern part of southwest China’s Tibet. It displays the essence of Damshung’s precious culture in a detailed and comprehensive way and presents the diverse cultural spirit of the northern nomadic area through literary and artistic performances, photography, calligraphy, handicrafts, and experiential exchanges.

A press conference for the “2019 Damshung Damgyiren Horse Racing Festival”, a national-level intangible cultural heritage, was also held during the opening of the exhibition. The Damgyiren Horse Racing Festival is held on August 8 each year and has been passed down for more than 300 years. It is a grand traditional festival for northern Tibet, and it has become an important window for domestic and foreign tourists to experience characteristic tourism of the snowy plateau and to understand Tibetan folk culture.
