Legend has it that Thangtong Gyalpo, the founder of Tibetan opera, created Yarlung Tashi Xoiba Tibetan Opera when he raised funds to build a bridge as he passed through the area of Tashi Qudeng in Changzhu Town, Nedong District, Lhoka City. For more than 600 years, Yarlung Tashi Xoiba Tibetan Opera has been sung on the land and was listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritages in 2006.
Nowadays, Tashi Qudeng is known as "the first village of Tibetan Opera". It has not only realized the inheritance and development of Yarlung Tashi Xoiba Tibetan Opera, but also found a unique road to prosperity via home-stay tourism.
