According to a press conference held by the Tibet Autonomous Region on August 13 regarding the region’s economic development of the first half of 2019, in the first six months of 2019, the per capita disposable income for Tibet’s rural residents was at 4,009 yuan (570 US dollars), a growth of 12.5% year-on-year, which is 3.6% higher than the national average of China. The growth rate has stayed number one in China for the last 17 quarters, and this is also the 14th quarter, since 2016, that the growth of rural income has surpassed that of urban income in the region.
