Alake Lake is located at the Balong Village, Dulan County, northwest China’s Qinghai Province with an average altitude of 4,099 meters. It is the largest freshwater lake of Haixi Mongol and Tibetan autonomous prefecture and also a major inland lake on the upper stream Qaidam River.
The ecosystem structure of Alake Lake is comparatively complete. With many rare species living there, the place is the ideal summer habitat for rare migratory birds such as Black-necked crane.
