On September 18th, China’s first Star Photography Festival was launched at the Chaka Salt Lake scenic district in Haixi Prefecture of Qinghai Province. The event invited a number of star experts, first-rate star photographers, and mainstream media photographers to take star-themed photos at the Chaka Salt Lake. There will also be a forum as well as photography seminars.

“Chaka” in Tibetan means “salt lake” and “sea of salt.” Located in Chaka Township of Ulan County in Haixi Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, Chaka Salt Lake is one of the first salt lakes developed in China.

The Chaka Salt Lake is east to the Qaidam Basin and is less polluted. The clean lake increases the visual appeal of the night sky, earning the nickname of “Mirror of the Night Sky.”
