High appreciations were given to the exhibition in Beijing on Tibet's past and present by departments concerned.
The State Publicity Department, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the State Council Information Office, have respectively sent a letter to the Party Committee of Tibet Autonomous Region, to express thanks for what the region has done in holding the exhibition.
Tibet Autonomous Region has attached much importance to the exhibition in despite of some obstacles. Cui Yuying, minister of Tibet Publicity Department, together with some 20 officials, were sent to Beijing to have investigation, after the exhibition was in preperation stage. To offer an all-around idea about Tibet, more pictures and historical subjects were added with the order from Cui Yuying. Besides, Cui also required carefully check the introductions so as to make no mistake, the letter said.
With efforts taken, visitor can easily see a sharp contrast between the feudal serfdom of old Tibet and new Tibet. We sincerely thank for everything the Tibet Autonomous Region has done, it said.
Tibet's past and present photo exhibition has by far drawn more than 100,000 visitors since it opened on June 30.
About 160 objects, more than 400 pictures and audio-visual materials are on display, telling of the vicissitudes of Tibet over the past 700 years, and the last half century in particular.
The exhibition was hosted by the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the State Council Information Office and Tibet Autonomous Region.
The exhibition will last till July 25.
