Dagze county in Tibet completed a total area of 1 646.73 hectares afforestation in 2011, source from source from Forestry Bureau of Dagze country.

The afforestation includes 646.73 hectares in key areas, 233.34 hectares of complementary planting, 433. 34 hectares of shelter forests and 333.34 hectares in vacant hills and desert land. It also afforested 5.13 hectares along main roads of the county, including 13 major trunk roads and industrial parks. the greening project along State Road 318 initiated in 2010 has been partly finished in 2011 with 20 hectares of afforestation, and 23, 732 trees.

On the base of preserving the existing vegetation, the Forestry Bureau took measures of artificial afforesting to restore and increase the vegetation cover. Two workers were employed to patrol and manage the green belt in the county. At the same time, four drivers of water wagons were hired to prune and water green belts.

Dagze county is located in the middle reaches Lhasa River, with the total area of 1361.38 square kilometers. It administrates 6 townships. Due to the high altitude, the duration of sunshine in this area reaches 3065.5 hours annually. Annual precipitation is 444 mm, among which 80% to 90% happens in summer. Natural disasters in this area are mainly drought, floods, landslides, hail, frost disasters, pests and so on.
